Kentucky Climate Consortium (KYCC)
I am the current Director of the Kentucky Climate Consortium, which acts as a catalyst for climate research and education in Kentucky by providing networking opportunities for Kentucky-based climate scholars and enabling them to leverage their expertise and passion to collaboratively pursue climate-related research, teaching, and public outreach.
I co-founded the KYCC in 2018 with Dr. Carmen Agouridis to help Kentucky climate researchers find and connect with each other across institutions and across disciplines, including the sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities, and the arts. |
Association for the Rhetoric of Science Technology & Medicine (ARSTM)
I am the Past President (2020-2021) and currently serve on the Board of Directors of the Association for Science, Technology, and Medicine, which is an independent scholarly organization that promotes rhetorical scholarship and facilitates networking across disciplines and institutions. Our primary meetings occur in conjunction with the National Communication Association (NCA) Rhetoric Society of America (RSA) conferences. At both NCA and RSA, we hold stand-alone preconferences and sponsor sessions during the main conference programming.
I also served as ARSTM Web Administrator from 2017-2019. |
Kentucky Division for Air Quality (DAQ)
Since 2017, I have collaborated with Roberta Burnes of the Kentucky Division for Air Quality to develop and offer service-learning technical communication courses. Our course topics have included communicating complex information, usability testing, and designing for digital accessibility.
Roberta and I have also collaborated to serve other audiences; we have led technical communication workshops for the Kentucky Association of Government Communicators and the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, and we have presented and published on our partnership in national and peer-reviewed outlets. |
